Mimique Phone

Author: Gen, Category: Concept Phones

The Mimique is a response to feature-heavy cell phones that look more like PDAs than phones. Playful and engaging, the Mimique’s design marries the heritage of old-school cell phones with next-generation style and touch-screen technology. The Mimique will use the new open-source cell phone software which will allow users to download features and “skins.” With downloadable upgrades, users won’t need to buy a new phone to get new features.

And the “skins” will allow users to change the graphic interface to match their mood or preferences. Designed for users who don’t take themselves or their phones too seriously, the eye-catching Mimique concept phone is poised to play a whole new game.

Touchscreen Blackberry Thunder

Author: Gen, Category: Blackberry

Rumors from Boy Genius Report indicated that RIM is developing a secret new Blackberry called the Thunder. Here are the specs to watch out for:

It is a full touchscreen BlackBerry — no slide out keyboard — with only 4 physical keys. Those are the send / end phone keys, the BlackBerry menu key, and the back key. Here is the most interesting part, though: it will launch as a worldwide lifetime exclusive on Verizon and Vodafone! We’ve heard the unit will be a hybrid device with CDMA EV-DO Rev. C (for clarification, Rev C., known as UMB is practically dead. If the device will indeed launch with a 4G solution, our bet is on LTE), and GSM HSPA for traveling internationally.

Unofficially it might be named the Blackberry 9500.
