iPhone 3GS announced by Apple
Apple just announced the new iPhone 3G S, the fastest iPhone ever.

The phone is available in 16GB and 32GB and in colors black and white. It will be available by June 19, 2009 with a price of $199 for the 16GB and $299 for the 32GB.
Upgrades include a faster HSDPA connection of up to 7.2Mbps, voice control, 3MP camera with video recording and a digital compass.

$ 199? as in, if converted to Philippine peso, 10,000 less?? When will this be available in the Philippines? I hope it’ll not be officially branded by network providers, as what happened to iPhone 3G by Globe. It was so exorbitant.
Do you know the recent price of the iPhone 3G 8gb? I had just read the news about the price reduction of it.

i believe the $199 is only applicable for an AT&T plan.. the true cost will be about $499 for the 16g and maybe 599 for the 32g.. and unfortunately for the millions of SMART subscribers in the Philippines, it seems that globe has this one again.. it was shown on the WWDC ‘09..

i doubt about the price.. coz the market price of iphone 3gs here in UK is about £400..

I, too, hope that it won’t be branded by ANY network service provider and that it will be sold as a stand-alone unit with “open-line” SIM card capabilities. I hated Globe’s stupid reasoning for charging the “I-Phone 3G with Pre-paid services” up to $1,000!! And they think they’re making the I-Phone affordable for Filipino consumers? F*CK that!!
